This project introduces a warm modern residence thoughtfully positioned between two mature groves of redwood trees on a rare flat site in Mill Valley. The design uses architecture and landscape in unison to create a sense of calm, privacy, and seamless connection to nature.

Natural materials—horizontal wood siding, stone, and glass—form a restrained and timeless palette that allows the home to blend harmoniously with its surroundings. Large sliding openings dissolve the boundary between inside and out, extending living areas into a series of covered terraces, courtyards, and gardens.

Every space was designed with indoor–outdoor living in mind. The living area opens fully to the central courtyard for year-round entertaining, while bedrooms and gathering spaces are oriented to frame views of the redwoods and capture filtered natural light. The result is a home that feels both expansive and intimate, contemporary in form yet deeply grounded in its natural setting.
